God created Adam from the dust and placed him in the Garden of Eden to care for it. He created Eve from Adam's rib to be his companion. They were told not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. The serpent deceived Eve into eating the fruit, and Adam followed. Their disobedience led to their expulsion from Eden, introducing sin and death into the world.

Cain and Abel
Genesis 4:1-8
Adam and Eve had two sons:
They both offered sacrifices to God. Abel’s offering of the best of his flock pleased God, but Cain’s offering of crops did not. In anger and jealousy, Cain lured Abel into the field and killed him.

Cain’s Punishment
Genesis 4:10-16
God confronted Cain about Abel's death and cursed him to be a restless wanderer on the earth. To protect Cain, God placed a mark on him so no one would kill him.

Cain’s Wife and Descendants
Genesis 4:17
Cain went to the land of Nod, east of Eden. There, he took a wife, and they had a son named Enoch. Cain built a city and named it after Enoch.

Cain and Abel

Adam and Eve had two sons:
- Cain, the firstborn, was a farmer.
- Abel, the second son, was a shepherd.
