Original branches = Jews (natural descendants of Abraham).
Wild branches = Gentiles (non-Jews) grafted into the blessings of God through faith in Jesus. - Romans 11

Was it important for us to identify if Jesus spoke to the original tribes of Israel or to the Gentiles? In order for us to gain understanding of the teachings supposedly for the 12 tribes, or for us?
And was Jesus' mission originally for the Jews? Or for all of us?

At first, Jesus’ primary mission during His earthly life was to the "lost sheep of Israel".

“I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” -Matthew 15:24.

"Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel." -Matthew 10:5-6

There's also a story in Matthew 15:21–28 and Mark 7:24–30.
There's this Canaanite woman (or Syrophoenician woman) meaning she was a Gentile (non-Jew).
She came begging Jesus to heal her demon-possessed daughter.
Jesus said:
“It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs."

Here, "children" refers to the Jews(Israel), and "dogs" was a common Jewish slang word for Gentiles (outsiders).
BUT, the woman humbly replied:
“Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table.”
Because of her faith, Jesus healed her daughter.

Even though Jesus’ earthly mission was first to Israel, He honored faith wherever it was found - Jew or Gentile.
Romans 3-4 also talks about this.

Now, let's go back to Romans 11, specifically verse 17 - it states here that the Jews were broken off because of unbelief, as some Jews rejected Jesus.

That's why in John 1:11-13 it says, "He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

All through these narratives in the Bible, why did this happen? Because God’s covenant was first with Abraham’s descendants - the Jews.
Jesus had to fulfill the promises to Israel first before opening the way to the nations.
And what's the turning point?? First let's understand the 1st covenant.
1st - God made a covenant with Abraham (Gen 12, 15, 17)
"All people on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:3
From the start, God’s goal was worldwide blessing, but the channel was through Abraham’s family - Israel.
2nd - Israel (the Jews) were supposed to be "a light to the nations" (Isaiah 49:6)
They were chosen to receive God’s laws and prepare the way for the Messiah.
BUT Israel mostly failed (idolatry, rebellion), and even rejected Jesus when He came.
3rd - Here's the turning point!
a.) 28th of the prophecies fulfilled out of ~300 during the crucifixion.
Here comes the paying of the sins of the world by the cross, where Bible verses from John come in to play, such as John 1:29, John 3:16, etc.

b. ) Here's also the beautiful event where the veil tore in the Temple (Matthew 27:51), symbolizing that access to God was no longer limited, not just for priests or Jews anymore.
"For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, -Ephisians 2:14

c.) Furthermore, this is where the great commission after resurrection starts “Go and make disciples of all nations...” -Matthew 28:19–20
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” -Mark 16:15

d.) Establishment of the Church - Parallels of Mount Sinai & Pentecost - On the day Moses came down from the mountain 3000 were slain, BUT on the day the church was established in Mount Zion, 3000 were saved. -Acts 2:41

I won't further continue regarding Pentecost because it's a wide and long topic.

Going back to the inheritance of salvation, Jesus already hinted at the Gentiles. Even while focusing on Israel, Jesus already gave clues that the gospel would spread beyond:

*“I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham... but the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside." Mathew 8:11:12

Another revelation of this is in John 10:16
*“I have other sheep that are not of this sheepfold. I must bring them also.”

Paul also mentioned this in Romans 1:16
*“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile."

Prophesized verses:
Isaiah 42:6
“I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness;
I will take hold of your hand.
I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles,

Psalm 22:27
All the ends of the earth
will remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations
will bow down before him,
Isaiah 60:3
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Amos 9:11-12
“I will restore David’s fallen shelter—
I will repair its broken walls
and restore its ruins—
and will rebuild it as it used to be,
so that they may possess the remnant of Edom
and all the nations that bear my name,
declares the Lord, who will do these things.

Additional Bible verses I can add:
Galatians 3:28
28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

There's also a story in Luke 2:25-32, Luke 24:47 and so on..

Acts 1:7-8
He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”.

Warning: "do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you." Romans 11:18

This post about oroginal olive branch and wild branch will help you to understand the "Parable of the Great Banquet" (Luke 14:15-24) and the "Parable of the Tenants" (Mathew 21:33-46).

May God bless you. 🤍
