Being highly attractive doesn't automatically make someone seem safer as a long-term partner.
In one study examining mate-choice trade-offs, women rated physically attractive men as more likely to cheat or leave a long-term relationship.
Men didn't show the equivalent tendency of judging attractive women as more likely to cheat.
Interestingly, women still weren't necessarily opposed to forming long-term relationships with the attractive men.
So perceived desirability and perceived faithfulness can move in different directionsA woman can simultaneously find someone extremely attractive and believe that dating him might carry greater relationship risk.
