Sugary Cereal Cream Pie
Makes one 9-inch pie
2 cups finely crushed cinnamon squares cereal (such as Cinnamon Toast Crunch)
½ cup granulated sugar, divided
1 stick unsalted butter, melted
2 cups whole milk
1 (3.4-ounce) package vanilla pudding mix
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups rainbow fruit-flavored cereal (such as Fruit Loops), crushed, plus more for decorating
Mix the cereal crumbs, ¼ cup of the sugar, and the butter in a large bowl. Press into a 9-inch pie plate and chill until solid, about 1 hour.
Whisk the milk and the pudding mix in a large bowl and pour into the chilled crust. Refrigerate until cold and set, about 1 hour.
Just before serving, whip the heavy cream with the remaining ¼ cup of the sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold in 2 cups crushed rainbow fruit-flavored cereal. Spoon the whipped cream onto the pudding and then decorate with more cereal.
