Potted plants sitting directly on a flat surface can sometimes have drainage holes obstructed or remain surrounded by standing water.

Suitable pot feet, bricks, or another stable raised support can create clearance underneath drainage holes.

Make sure the pot remains stable and cannot easily tip in strong wind.

For plants sensitive to waterlogging, drainage becomes particularly important during prolonged rainy periods.
