Automatic Centre on Wednesday announced it will be closing shop next month, after more than 70 years as the COVID-19 proved to be detrimental to its business. “We would like to announce today that Automatic Appliance Inc. (AAI) will officially close down its appliance retailing operations effective October 10, 2021,” AAI president and CEO Geoffrey Lim said in a letter. A third person in Japan has died after receiving a Moderna COVID-19 jab from a vaccine batch that was found to be contaminated with stainless steel.
