Telstra's plans to enter the Philippines have been brushed off by the country's biggest mobile carrier, Globe, which says it has seen off major competitors before. Telstra last week confirmed it was in talks with the Philippines' biggest conglomerate, San Miguel Corporation, about launching a mobile network in the south-east Asian nation. Talks are reasonably advanced and have been under way for several months. A deal could see Telstra invest hundreds of millions of dollars to build a joint venture that would give local customers 4G services. Popular torrent release group YIFY and its official YTS website have shut down permanently, trusted sources have confirmed to TorrentFreak. The unexpected shutdown marks the end of an era that started at the turn of the decade. More information about the precise circumstances will become public in the near future.
