🔒 Closed Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo killed in attack

In a Facebook post, Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo said her husband was pronounced dead at 11:41 a.m., saying, "The governor does not deserve that kind of death."

She said the governor was serving his constituents on a Saturday, along with his department heads when he was gunned down by still unidentified assailants.

"There were five others who died with him. They were there to ask for help," said Degamo.

"Give the governor the justice he deserves," she added.


Based on the latest reports from the ground, Gov. Degamo was talking to some of his constituents who are beneficiaries of 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program)in front of his house in Barangay San Isidro, Pamplona when a group of individuals, clad in full army and navy battle gear and were aboard two SUVs, shot the governor several times hitting other civilians as well.
