Actor Mely Tagasa has passed away at the age of 82, her daughter Gina confirmed on social media Saturday.
"At 12:26 am today (March 24,2018) our beloved Miss Tapia has joined our Creator," Gino wrote. "The gates of Heaven open for her. We love you very much, Mommy!"
Mely Tagasa's place in the entertainment industry was cemented when she assumed the role of Miss Tapia on the '70s sitcom "Iskul Bukol."

President Rodrigo Duterte would not hesitate to deploy the Marines and "blow up" the controversial Boracay West Cove resort which was ordered closed for permit violations, Malacañang said on Thursday.

BEIJING - China will "prudently advance" cooperation with the Philippines on joint oil and gas exploration in the South China Sea, China's top diplomat State Councillor Wang Yi said on Wednesday after meeting his Philippine counterpart.

CEBU CITY – Commercial quantities of natural gas and oil resources have been found in the southern town of Alegria, Cebu that can last for 19 years.
The Department of Energy (DOE) and its partner, a Chinese exploration firm, were set to start production of the on-shore gas and oil mining site in Alegria, a 4th class municipality located more than 110 km from Cebu City.

Businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles has asked the Sandiganbayan Third Division to dismiss her 194 criminal charges in connection with the P900-million Malampaya fund scam.
