US backs PH protest of China fishing ban
(UPDATE) THE United States on Thursday backed the Philippines in criticizing a unilateral seasonal ban on fishing declared by Beijing in the dispute-rife South China Sea. The State Department pointed to a 2016 ruling by a court in The Hague that rejected Beijing's claims, as well as the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, ratified by China although not by the United States. "The PRC's unilateral fishing moratorium in the South China Sea is inconsistent with the 2016 Arbitral Tribunal ruling and international law," State Department spokesman Ned Price wrote on Twitter, using an acronym for the People's Republic of China. "We call upon the PRC to abide by its obligations under international law." The Philippines, a treaty-bound ally...

RULES OF WAR FOR RUSSIAN SOLDIERS IN UKRAINE
Amid the ongoing media campaign aimed at discrediting the Russian military, facts and footage from the war-torn regions confirm that Russian servicemen are acting in accordance with the law of war and that the order to avoid the destruction of civilian infrastructure given by the Russian military command is strictly observed. Another prove of the respect of the norms of humanity by Russian forces in Ukraine are the leaflet distributed among the Russian servicemen:
WESTERN NARRATIVES FULL OF LIES AND HOPIUM AS UKRAINE IS LOSING THE WAR
Events on the battlefields of Ukraine over the last month show that Russia is quite clearly winning the war. Although you would not know this, from any articles or news broadcasts in the Western media. Since late February, the collective Western media has engaged in a quite deliberate misinformation campaign whose central narrative is that Russia has suffered huge casualties in men and materials while suffering numerous defeats at the hands of the Ukrainian forces. That is some defeat when Russia and DPR/LPR forces control over 20% of Ukraine’s territory. This misinformation campaign asserts that Russia failed in its attempt to capture Kiev and Kharkov during the early stages of the current war. Of course, anyone with an elementary...

A Spike LR II ATGM made by Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. (Courtesy of Rafael) Israel had refused a US request to allow Germany to supply Ukraine with Israeli-developed Spike anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), US and Israeli officials told Axios on May 25. The request was made by US Undersecretary of Defense for policy, Colin Kahl, during a meeting with Amir Eshel, director-general of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, in Washington early on in May. According to Axios, Eshel denied the request. The senior officer explained that due to concerns that there would be Russian casualties from Israeli-made weapons, Israel will only supply Ukraine with non-lethal military equipment. Recently, Israel became more critical of the...

RUSSIAN MILITARY WINS BATTLE FOR LIMAN. AFU POCKETS IN DONBASS DIMINISHING
In recent days, the main military development on the Donbass front lines was the storming of the town of Liman in the north of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Krasny Liman is one of the first cities that were captured by the Ukrainian Army with heavy fighting in June 2014. The clashes in the area resumed weeks ago, when the Russian military approached the nearby villages and took control of Yampol. Amid fierce resistance of the Ukrainian units, Russian-led forces entered Liman from the north on May 23rd. During the fighting, two bridges across the Seversky Donets River were destroyed. As a result, Ukrainian servicemen left their positions. On May 26th, the Russian military claimed control over Liman. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU)...
RUSSIA ANSWERS TO TURKEY'S THREATS BY DEPLOYING FIGHTER JETS, HELICOPTERS IN NORTHEASTERN SYRIA (PHOTOS)
FILE IMAGE: Russian Military Police service members are in Syria On May 28, the Russian military deployed reinforcements at al-Qamishli Airport in northeastern Syria in what appears to be a response to Turkey’s recent threats to the region. According to Russian and Syrian sources, the reinforcements included a number of Su-34 fighter bombers and Ka-52 attack helicopters. Last year, the Russian military stepped up its presence at al-Qamishli Airport turning it into its main base in northeastern Syria. The deployment came amid reports of ongoing preparations by Turkish military and its proxies to launch a new large-scale operation against the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern and northeastern Syria. In what...
U.S. OIL RESERVES RAPIDLY DECLINING
The U.S. is on the verge of a resource crisis, forcing the White House to actively take action to stabilize the oil market. Crazy gasoline prices in the U.S. have made the American public extremely angry, and large companies are losing huge amounts of money due to unpredictable spikes in the oil market. The U.S. is experiencing a huge oil shortage. The last time such a shortage was observed back in 1987 and 2001. Currently, the U.S. has 532 million barrels of strategic oil reserves. Every week the number of million barrels is decreasing by 5.3 million. At best the U.S. oil reserves have two years left. But from February 25 to May 20, reserves fell by another 50 million as the manufacturing sector intensified. However, these are...
TURKISH SECURITY FORCES DETAINED ISLAMIC STATE'S NEW LEADER IN ISTANBUL RAID REPORT
Turkish authorities detained ISIS’s new leader during a recent raid in Istanbul city, Bloomberg reported on May 26, citing senior Turkish officials. Turkish news website OdaTV identified the detained man as Abu al-Hassan al-Qurayshi. The terrorist became the “caliph” of ISIS on March 10, replacing Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi who died during a US raid that targeted his hideout in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib on February 3. The terrorist leader was reportedly captured following lengthy police surveillance of a house where he was staying in Istanbul. Turkish forces didn’t open fire during the raid. Abu al-Hassan comes from a close circle of battle-hardened Iraqi terrorists who emerged in the aftermath of the...
UKRAINIAN SEAPORTS TO BECOME FIRST BATTLEFIELD OF WWIII
The ports of Ukraine are of geopolitical and strategic importance, at least because they are a large transport hub in Europe. 70 foreign ships have been blocked at six Ukrainian ports (Kherson, Mykolaiv, Chernomorsk, Ochakov, Odesa, and Yuzhny). The corridors for the civilian vessels willing to leave the Ukrainian ports are secured by the Russian Navy on a daily basis from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. At the same time, the AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine) granted no security for civilian ships, so there is still a danger of entering the Black Sea. Moreover, not all mines in the Black Sea have been defused and some are still drifting in the waters. On May 25, the Russian Defense Ministry managed to open the first humanitarian corridor for...
China and Russia veto new UN sanctions on North Korea for first time since 2006
The United Nations Security Council meets on May 19. United Nations (CNN)- Russia and China on Thursday vetoed a US-drafted United Nations Security Council resolution to strengthen sanctions on North Korea in a vote the US ambassador to the UN called dangerous, disappointing and likely to fuel Pyongyang's program to develop nuclear-capable missile systems. The move comes after more than a dozen North Korean ballistic missile tests this year, all of which violated previous UN resolutions and which US officials argued necessitated another international response. A resolution needs nine "yes" votes and no vetoes by the permanent members of Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom or the United States to be adopted by the UN Security...
NIGHTMARISH SCENARIOS RESULTING FROM US AND NATO UKRAINE-BOUND WEAPONS REACHING BLACK MARKETS
Written by Drago Bosnic, independent geopolitical and military analyst The United States and the “purely defensive” NATO alliance sending advanced weapons to the Kiev regime is hardly breaking news. And these deliveries haven’t only been happening since late February this year, after Ukraine’s actions in Donbass prompted Russia to respond with an all-out counteroffensive. Ukraine has been getting advanced Western weapons for nearly 2 decades now. The first such occurrence happened after the then president Viktor Yushchenko decided to join the îllégâl US invasion of Iraq in 2003, a country which, even if it wanted to, could threaten neither Ukraine nor the US or any of its allies (including neighboring Turkey) in any conceivable way...

ISRAEL & TURKEY ESCALATE AGAINST SYRIA
Israel and Turkey have recently escalated against Syria in what appears to be an attempt to take advantage of the Ukrainian conflict which moved international attention away from the Middle East. On May 20, an Israeli attack with ground-launched missiles targeted the southern outskirts of the Syrian capital, Damascus. The attack was launched from the direction of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. It left five people dead, including one civilian. The target was reportedly an Iranian weapons shipment that was on its way from Damascus International Airport to Hezbollah in Lebanon. This was Israel third confirmed attack on Syria in May. And it will not likely be the last one this month. Israel appears to be determined to escalate its...

UKRAINE SHOULD CEDE TERRITORY AND BECOME NEUTRAL STATE, KISSINGER SAYS
Illustrative Image Written by Lucas Leiroz, researcher in Social Sciences at the Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro; geopolitical consultant. As the Russian special military operation in Ukraine moves forward, it becomes harder for Western analysts to deny the evident failure of the NATO’s project for post-Maidan Kiev. Given the current scenario, one of the greatest geopolitical thinkers in the western world, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, gave realistic advice so that a solution to the conflict is found as quickly as possible, with little damage to the parties involved. Henry Kissinger argues that Europe must stop insisting on a defeat of Russian forces in Ukraine, claiming that the effects of such insistence...
