Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 20) — A patient in Bacolod City has tested positive for coronavirus disease or COVID-19, the first case in the city, the mayor said Friday.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the 56-year-old man has travel history to London. He is confined in a hospital in Bacolod and is “stable” and “recovering.” The patient arrived in Bacolod on February 29, he said.

UPDATES: As of 12NN today, the Department of Health reports 77 new cases (PH231-PH307) of COVID-19. The total number of cases in the country is now at 307.

The DOH also reports five additional patients who recovered. Four of the recoveries are elderly patients, one of which was a severe case. This brings the total number of recoveries in the country to 13.

COVID-19 cases in Philippines climb further to 380; death toll at 25

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire on Sunday confirmed 73 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines, bringing the total to 380.

From 19 deaths, the fatality record climbed to 25.
