Cαиνα Launches Craft, Its First In-House Image Model
Cαиνα has introduced Craft, its first image generation model built from scratch by its in-house AI lab, Cαиνα Research. The model is designed for design work, with a focus on accurate text, clean layouts, and outputs that stay editable.
Craft debuted in fourth place on DesignArena, a crowdsourced benchmark for AI design. Cαиνα says that makes its lab the second most advanced in the world for image generation, though that framing is the company's own. The model ranks first globally for People & Portraits and for Landscapes & Nature, second for Abstract & Patterns, and fourth for Products.
What's new
- Plan-then-render architecture: One model plans the composition (elements, layout, hierarchy, text) and a second renders the image, giving more precise control and more legible text.
- Trained on design: Training drew on millions of Cαиνα templates, not just photos, and was refined with feedback from professional designers.
- Flexible output: Images go up to 2K resolution across 30+ aspect ratios. Prompts work in any language, and text can be rendered in 55 languages.
- Editable results: Craft works with Magic Layers to turn generated images into editable design elements.
Availability
Craft is live now for all Cαиνα users through Dream Lab, and for developers through Cαиνα's public API. Cαиνα MCP support, which will let AI assistants and agents generate images in their workflows, is coming soon. Faster, lower-cost variants, Craft-fast and Craft-ultrafast, are on the way.
Cαиνα says Craft is covered by its Cαиνα Shield safety framework, and that fine print and technical drawings are among the areas it plans to improve next.
