Sports in the Philippines are increasingly moving into places that weren't traditionally considered sports venues.

SM Supermalls reported hosting thousands of activities involving running, cycling, skating, bowling, pickleball, and fitness across its properties.

The idea is to make physical activity part of an ordinary shopping-center visit rather than requiring people to travel to a dedicated sports complex. This also gives beginners a more accessible way to try activities before committing to a club or facility.

For families, malls can function as recreational spaces where different generations participate in different activities at the same time.

The trend shows how recreation is becoming integrated into everyday urban life.
