If you've ever bobbed for apples, you may have noticed that they float effortlessly. That's because about 25% of an apple's volume is made up of tiny air pockets trapped inside the fruit. These air pockets make apples less dense than water, allowing them to stay afloat. Different apple varieties may float slightly differently depending on their density.

This simple scientific principle is based on buoyancy, the same force that helps ships float. It's a fun example of physics at work in everyday life.
