PHMajor Updates Arrive for Gemini: Model 3, Generative Interfaces, and New Agent Capabilities
Google has officially announced its most significant update of the year for the Gemini app. The rollout, which begins globally today, introduces a new flagship model, a redesigned user interface, and experimental features designed to handle complex, multi-step tasks on behalf of the user.

Introducing Gemini 3
The core of this update is the introduction of Gemini 3. Positioned as the platform's most intelligent iteration to date, this model sets a new standard for performance, specifically targeting users who use AI for creation, coding, and building complex projects.
Key technical specifications include:
- Multimodal Reasoning: The model features a 1-million-token context window, allowing it to synthesize and analyze large amounts of data across video, images, text, and audio simultaneously.
- Coding and Agents: Gemini 3 includes state-of-the-art reasoning capabilities, offering what is described as the platform's best performance yet for "agentic" workflows and coding tasks.
- Refined Output: Users will notice that responses are designed to be more concise, helpful, and better formatted than previous iterations.
Generative Interfaces and Visual Changes
Beyond the underlying model, the user experience has been redesigned. The new "Generative Interfaces" are intended to make starting chats, retrieving past creations, and digesting information more intuitive.
- Visual Layouts: You can now access two new experiments—"visual layout" and "dynamic view"—which present information in a more immersive, graphic-heavy format rather than simple text blocks.
- Enhanced Shopping: For retail-related queries, the interface now integrates product links, listings, and comparison charts directly into the response.
- Factuality: This update leverages Gemini 3 to provide information that prioritizes factuality and conciseness.
The Gemini Agent Experiment
For users seeking assistance with logistics and productivity, the update introduces the "Gemini Agent." This experimental feature is designed to execute multi-step workflows that traditionally require significant manual input.
The Agent can assist with tasks such as booking travel, organizing email inboxes, comparing prices across vendors, or scheduling appointments. Notably, the system retains a "human-in-the-loop" safety measure: the Agent is required to seek your confirmation before performing critical actions, such as finalizing a purchase or sending a message.
Note: At launch, the Gemini Agent is available exclusively to Ultra subscribers in the United States.

Alongside the technical updates, a new tier has been opened for the education sector. Students in the United States can now sign up for Gemini’s Pro Plan free for one year. This offer includes access to the new Gemini 3 model, NotebookLM, and unlimited image uploads.
