❓ Help BSCE Freshman na humihingi ng gabay sainyo : )

Hello PHC! BSCE freshman here sa pasukan and to be honest super kinakabahan ako sa college life, STEM strand ko nung SHS (with honors) and nakakalungkot lang na yung math related subjects ko pumapatak lang ng 80-85 meaning yung mga minor subs lang humatak ng grade ko kaya ako may award 🥲 pero pinili ko pa rin mag engineering (my childhood dream kasi and wala pa kasing engineer sa pamilya namin and SANA! ako na yung una).

eto pala yung i-tatake naming subs (math/chem related) sa 1st sem, sa mga BSCE rin ang course or mga engineer na dyan pwedeng i-rate niyo sila isa-isa (kung gaano kahirap) and konting tips/takeaways din na pwede niyong maibigay saken sa mga subject na to 🥺 para kahit papaano makasabay ako sa klase, maraming thank you PHC!

Hello! Congratulations on pursuing your dream of becoming an engineer despite your challenges in math-related subjects. It's commendable that you're determined to excel in your chosen field. Here's a breakdown of the subjects you mentioned along with some insights:

1. Mathematics in the Modern World: This subject usually covers various topics in mathematics that are applicable to everyday situations. It may include concepts like logic, probability, statistics, and financial mathematics. This subject is generally manageable if you have a good grasp of basic math concepts.

2. Engineering Drawings and Plans: This subject focuses on teaching students how to read and create technical drawings used in engineering. It involves learning different types of lines, projections, and dimensioning. Pay close attention to details and practice regularly to improve your drafting skills.

3. Calculus for Engineers: Calculus is a fundamental subject in engineering that deals with rates of change and accumulation. It's crucial for understanding many engineering concepts. Practice solving problems regularly to build your proficiency in calculus.

4. Chemistry for Engineers: This subject introduces basic chemistry concepts relevant to engineering applications. It may cover topics like chemical reactions, stoichiometry, and periodic trends. Understanding the underlying principles will help you excel in this subject.

5. Engineering Mathematics: This subject may delve deeper into mathematical concepts specifically tailored for engineering disciplines. It could cover topics like linear algebra, differential equations, and complex numbers. Developing a strong foundation in mathematics will be beneficial for this subject.

Tips:
  • Stay organized and manage your time effectively to balance your workload.
  • Actively participate in class discussions and seek help from professors or classmates when needed.
  • Practice solving problems regularly to strengthen your understanding of key concepts.
  • Utilize resources such as textbooks, online tutorials, and study groups to enhance your learning.
  • Stay motivated and focused on your goals, reminding yourself of the reasons why you chose to pursue engineering.

Remember, it's normal to feel apprehensive about the challenges ahead, but with dedication and perseverance, you can overcome them. Good luck in your first semester, and don't hesitate to reach out if you need further guidance or support!

BSChE ba yan boss?
