Cops looking for two men last seen with online sellers killed in Calamba
Laguna police are hunting the two men who were last seen with the two online sellers who were killed inside a white van in Calamba City. According to John Consulta's "24 Oras" report, the bodies of two victims, aged 32 and 21, were last seen inside a van at a garage on September 21. The men met with the victims inside a white van as seen in a CCTV video. Police said the van was then parked at the garage where the men allegedly shot and killed the online sellers. In an initial probe, Calamba, Laguna Police Chief Police Colonel Arnel Pagulayan said some witnesses did not hear any gunshots in their area, the day the incident happened. Coca-Cola to exit sachet business
COCA-COLA Beverages Philippines, Inc. on Tuesday announced that it will be exiting the sachet business next year as part of its environmental efforts. The beverage company will also introduce paper straws and remove plastic straws from its juice and dairy products, Minute Maid and Nutriboost. “We have made the bold decision to completely exit from our sachet business by 2022. Court orders Royal Traders to pay P367 million after deposits deemed Marcos' ill-gotten wealth
The Sandiganbayan has ordered the Royal Traders Holding Company, Incorporated (RTHCI) to pay the Philippine government at least P367 million, saying the amount was part of the ill-gotten wealth of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos and his family. In a 52-page decision, the anti-graft court also ordered the payment of 12% interest per year since February 1993 until the amount was fully ρáíd. BSP shuts down 6th problematic bank this year
MANILA, Philippines — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ordered the closure of Lucena-based Grand Agri Rural Bank Inc., bringing to six the number of problematic banks shuttered this year. BSP Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier said the Monetary Board has issued a resolution prohibiting the Grand Agri Rural Bank from doing business pursuant to Section 30 of Republic Act 7653 or The New Central Bank Act, as amended. A 22- year-old man from Beijing, China died after downing a 1.5-liter bottle of Coca-Cola in only 10 minutes during a hot day. NCR's COVID-19 reproduction number down to 0.97 OCTA
The National Capital Region's (NCR) COVID-19 reproduction number slid further on Friday, according to Dr. Guido David of OCTA Research. In a tweet, David said NCR's COVID-19 reproduction number went down to 0.97 from the 0.99 reported the previous day. Reproduction number refers to the number of people that each case can infect. David also said NCR growth rate is at -22% for a seven-day average of 4,480 cases, and that "[a]ll 17 LGUs (local government units) had negative 1-week growth rate." Accenture Philippines on Tuesday announced a free COVID-19 vaccination program for all its employees in the country, along with a one-time bonus given the company's financial performance during the second quarter.
