Sa lahat na nag sasabi na palpak daw ang Sea Games , yang award nayan kainin niyu mga Dilawan.
Tandaan niyo sa Duterte Admin lang yan nangyari , dati sa panahon ni Cory lugmok talaga ang sea games
NakakaProud maging Pinoy

lugmok adj. prostrate and helpless

I would not call the hosting of the Philippines during the You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now. 'lugmok'. While it's true that the Philippines did not win the first place nor receive an award from SPIA Asia, the Philippines came in second, only one gold medal difference from the first placer which is Indonesia. The final medal tally of Philippines was 91 gold, 62 silver and 86 bronze medals. So, no, I would say maganda pa rin performance ng Philippines sa paghost nito dati, kahit hindi sila nanalo or nabigyan ng award :)

Let us not let our biases rewrite history.

Also, I'll leave these quotes here to those who are angry at people criticizing the games:

Proverbs 15:31-32
If you listen to constructive criticism,
you will be at home among the wise.
If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself;
but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.

Proverbs 13:18
If you ignore criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace;
if you accept correction, you will be honored.

So, with this, let me ask: Is it really that 'un-nationalistic' to point out others' mistakes? The world is not black or white, nor dilawan or DDS. Just because you criticize this administration's mistakes doesn't mean you totally support the opposing sides. Is it wrong to love the current administration's good works and projects and at the same time, correct its mistakes? Isn't that called 'discernment'? Ibig sabihin lang nun nag-iisip ka at matured ka dahil alam mo ang tama at mali. Criticisms should not be seen as people bringing down the government but rather, as a way to find out how those in power can further improve themselves.

Have a nice day.

- my simple answer is democracy. this is the type of government meron ang pinas. democracy in simple definition is every pinoy have a say on politics. you can vote, you can run or you can protest.

You are right regarding democracy. Which is why I am asking why others look down on people who criticize and point out others' mistakes. Hindi 'un-nationalistic' ang pag-criticize sa government. Hindi nga ito considered sedition under the Revised Penal Code so I don't see why others keep throwing names like 'dilawan', traydor, etc. around social media. It seems like some people need to go back and read the law before they can go tell off others for being 'un-nationalistic' or proclaim themselves as the only 'true patriots' just because they took a side they think is right.

- again democracy. people can speak of their opinions even if it right or wrong. kahit yun definition ng 'un-nationalistic' is different because again government allows the people to define it on their own way. why? democracy.
- i will give you one example. i am an expat here in uae. do you know there are lot's of bad decisions of the government and corruption is always everywhere? do i have a say on it? can i criticize the government here? do even locals have the right to criticize their own government? no because there is no democracy here in their government. the government decides on everything. period.

Yes, I agree that each of us is entitled to his/her own opinion. But have you heard of the phrase 'Your liberty to swing your fist ends just where my nose begins' or something similar? Democracy is not being free to insult others from the opposition. Democracy is not bullying others because they have a different opinion. Democracy is not being free to speak ill of others. Exercising freedom of speech does not mean you are exempt from the laws of the land, and there are laws that protect people from those who misuse their freedom.

Take for example some of the people here. You can see threads daily, either calling others 'dilawan' or 'dutertards'. Do you think that that is the right way to exercise democracy? Bullying? Derogatory terms? Insults? I think not. That's not even considered debate. That's not what you call democracy.

Democracy does not give you the excuse nor the freedom to bully or insult your fellow countrymen because they differ in opinion with yours.

Did you not know that 'dilawan' is a derogatory term? 'Dilawan', 'dutertards', etc, all are derogatory and is somewhat rude and insulting, along with cuss words. If people want a formal debate, present your side and along with it your proof. But never insult others. That is not a debate. Both sides are in the wrong here, for resorting to name-calling instead of having a constructive, useful and lively debate.

Maganda sana pakinggan panig ng bawat side, hindi yung puro insulto nalang ng 'dilawan' or 'dutertard' makikita mo.

- yes democracy has it's limit and has to be proper. but again and again "democracy" is not defined to all as like that. you cannot tell somebody to shut up and put his/her democracy on a proper order because democracy is defined differently to everyone. iba iba paniniwala ng mga tao my friend.

Democracy does not and will never depend on your perspective. May fixed and accepted definition ang democracy, as are laws. Laws are not interpreted differently, they have fixed definitions on what is and isn't allowed.

I am not telling someone to shut up. I am merely telling people to exercise their freedom properly. Freedom does not give us the right nor allow as to trample upon other's rights. Cite a law that contradicts this and I would concede.

- simple. your point is correct and idealistic. but again this is not what you wake up pag labas mo sa kanto ng bahay niyo. what my point is again wrong (by order and law) but again this is the reality.
- so this is what your country is now since emilio aguinaldo. they are using democracy in a wrong way. but again who can tell pinoys to stop? again this is on going since aguinaldo.
