If the SD card you use in your phone is corrupted or damaged, you are likely to get a message saying "SD card is damaged. Try reformatting them". If you have a backup of all the files, it's completely ok to format the card and see if the problem will be solved. However, what if there isn't a backup available. You will not want to format the card because formatting will remove all the data on the card. In this case, you will need to use corrupted data recovery software.

There are tons of apps available on Android, Mac and Windows that can fix the corrupted SD card for your phone. That is to say that you can fix the problem directly on your phone or by using computer software. The latter is recommended. This is a complete guide to fix corrupted SD card and restore all the data.

While there are ways to fix the card and recover the data, it's better if the card is not corrupted in the first place. In addition, it's a good idea to regularly backup the files on your phone.
