The NCCA inventory records the Bowag ng Kankanay, a Kankanay tradition described as a mock battle. Unlike an actual conflict, the practice is a cultural performance rather than warfare.

Such traditions can preserve ideas about cooperation, social relationships, identity, and conflict while removing the consequences of real fighting.

It is documented in Sagada, Mountain Province.

The practice shows how communities can transform themes associated with conflict into organized cultural activities.
