If an umbrella has a secure hanging loop or strap intended for storage, it can be hung in a suitable ventilated location after excess water has drained.
Leave the canopy loose or open according to the manufacturer's drying guidance rather than tightly wrapping wet fabric immediately.
Place a tray underneath if dripping is possible.
The important part is allowing trapped moisture to escape before long-term storage.
