Place a waterproof tray near the entrance specifically for rain-soaked footwear.
A removable rack or raised insert inside the tray can keep shoes from sitting directly in the muddy water that drains from them.
Remove suitable insoles and loosen the laces to improve airflow while drying.
Instead of cleaning muddy footprints throughout the house, you only have one small area to clean.
