Turn the hangers in your closet so they're all facing the same unusual direction.
After wearing and washing an item, return its hanger in the normal direction. After several months, clothing still facing the original way becomes easy to identify.
This doesn't mean every untouched item should automatically be thrown away—formal and seasonal clothing naturally gets used less often.
It simply replaces “I think I wear this” with a visible record of what actually leaves the closet.
