Cats May Prefer Several Small Meals Throughout the Day
Domestic cats evolved from hunters that typically captured relatively small prey rather than consuming one enormous meal.
When given appropriate opportunities, many cats naturally eat multiple small portions across the day. Feeding puzzles and timed feeders can also spread food intake while adding activity to feeding.
Individual dietary needs still depend on age, health, body condition, and veterinary guidance.
A cat's daily food doesn't necessarily need to arrive in only one or two large servings.
