I wanted to share a personal project that I've been building over the past few months called MICLY.

It's a free web-based karaoke application that lets you turn your TV, laptop, or monitor into a karaoke system while everyone controls the song queue using their own phones.

What is MICLY?

MICLY is a modern karaoke party platform that uses the YouTube Embedded Player together with the YouTube Data API to help users discover publicly available karaoke videos and enjoy synchronized karaoke sessions with friends and family.

The goal is to make karaoke parties easier—no more fighting over the TV remote or interrupting the current singer just to search for the next song.

How It Works

1. Open MICLY on your TV or laptop.
2. Create a karaoke room.
3. Share the Room Code or QR Code.
4. Friends join using their phones.
5. Everyone searches and queues songs while the current singer continues performing.

No need to pass around the remote.

UPDATE mga ka-PHC!

Good news — papunta na si Micly sa Google Play Store! Currently nasa Closed Testing stage na kami and I need at least 12 Android testers before we can proceed with the public release.

Baka may gustong tumulong mag-test. Simple lang:

I’ll add you as a tester and send the official testing link
Install Micly and try it out

Waiting RoomWhen you host, you can now choose how the room opens. Start now works theway it always has. Waiting Room keeps the music paused while people scan inand pick their songs — the TV shows the room code and everyone who's arrived, andnothing plays until you hit start.

Party WrappedThe after-party recap is now a story you tap through, like Spotify Wrapped. Songssung, minutes on the mic, who took the mic most, the crowd favourite, song of thenight, your room's mood, and the full setlist in order.

BrowseSearch for a song and you'll now find trending charts, genres and your recentlyplayed sitting right underneath, so there's always something to pick when nobodycan think of one.

A new look for "Jump back in"Your recent songs get proper Micly artwork instead of mismatched YouTubethumbnails, with the song and artist shown clearly.

Fixed​

• Micly could get stuck on the loading screen and never open.
• Search sometimes stopped working partway through the day. It no longer does.
• Song titles showed leftover junk like I'm Yours or(Karaoke Version) HD Lyrics. They're cleaned up everywhere now.
• On a TV, the "Up next" song title was cut off mid-word.
• On a phone, the Waiting Room screen was cut off at the top and bottom, and theStart button was hidden.
• On a TV or laptop, the Start now / Waiting Room choice never appeared.
• On a phone, there was no way to reach Settings from your profile.
• The country search box in Trending was several times too tall.
• Host a party and Join a party now look the same, with the button in the sameplace on both.
• The Leave party screen used the wrong shade of red.
