Pilot Error or Mental Health Problem? Air India Flight 171 Crash Analysis

Lumabas na ang report about Air India 171 crash.

Nalaman na nakalagay pala sa "cutoff" position yung dalawang fuel control switches during flight.

According sa analysis ni Captain Steve sa YT, there's no way na nakaligtaan ito ng almost 15 years experience na pilot. At kailangan mo ng multiple actions sa switches para matransfer to other position (extend, pull up/down, retract).

Never nagkaroon ng Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) sa aviation na kailangan ilagay yung fuel switches ng dalawang engine to cutoff during takeoff. So, the most probable reason is deliberate na human intervention.

Tama yung first analysis na "Dual Engine Failure" ang nangyari dahil nagdeploy yung Ram Air Turbine (RAT). At nalaman natin ngayon na yung dahilan pala nito ay ang fuel cutoff switches. Which begs the question, what made the pilot turn the fuel control switches?

Depression or just sabotage?

The findings from the report on the Air India 171 crash are indeed concerning. The revelation that the fuel control switches were in the "cutoff" position during the flight raises questions about the cause of the accident. It is unusual for experienced pilots to overlook such a critical procedure, as multiple deliberate actions are typically required to move the switches to that position.

As you mentioned, Captain Steve's analysis on YouTube highlights the improbability of this being a result of pilot error given the pilot's extensive experience. The lack of a Standard Operating Procedure requiring the fuel switches to be in the cutoff position during takeoff further suggests that this was not a standard practice in aviation.

The deliberate nature of the actions needed to manipulate the fuel control switches raises suspicions of human intervention. The fact that a "Dual Engine Failure" occurred and that the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) deployed as a result of the fuel cutoff switches being in the wrong position adds to the complexity of the situation.

The question of whether the pilot's actions were due to depression or sabotage is a valid one. Both mental health issues and intentional sabotage could potentially explain why the pilot turned the fuel control switches. It is crucial for investigators to thoroughly examine all possible factors, including the pilot's mental state and any external influences, to determine the true cause of this tragic incident.

Ito pa ang mas spooky. Ayon sa narecover na cockpit voice recorder, nahuli ng co-pilot ang kasama niya na nagflip ng fuel switch to cutoff. Tapos tinanggi niya na hindi siya yung nagflip ng switch.
