Official Translation vs. Scanlation (Chapter 814 Edition)
Official Translation vs. Scanlation (Chapter 814 Edition) Some Japanese speakers clarify that the word Pekoms actually used in reference to Sanji’s family was “killers” or “murderers”, and it looks like the Shonen Jump translation corroborates this. While the term “assassins” is fairly straightforward, “killers” is more of a gray area and open to interpretation. It could mean that they are, by occupation, killers (i.e. assassins) or it could be a turn of phrase based on Pekoms’ perception of the family. (For example, the Celestial Dragons are World Nobles, but if you ask me, they’re a bunch of heartless murderers.) We also have to consider that the Vinsmokes are a family who have notoriety in the underworld and in addition to that...
How Sabo met Koala and häçk
How Sabo met Koala and häçk R: When Koala fell around Robin’s neck, I came to like her (^o^). So concretely, under what circumstances did Koala, Sabo and häçk meet? Oda: Hm, many people want to know about the life of these three. Once I start to tell you, there’ll be no end. Firstly, there’s Sabo who was rescued by Dragon when he was around 10 years old. He then meets the Revolutionary Army and learned about the things happening in the world and their thoughts on it. Gradually, he also sympathizes with them. That’s when he met häçk who, as a master of Fishman Karate, teaches martial arts to children without prospects, that are raised by the army. However, Sabo carries no memories, but he isn’t a boy anymore on a level such of...
Cavendish and Hakuba
Cavendish and Hakuba Cavendish has an unusual condition, where he possesses a combination of narcolepsy, sleepwalking and Dissociative identity disorder. His inner personality, Hakuba, awakens when Cavendish falls asleep and grants him incredible speed, to the point that he moves too fast for the eyes to track; even with Haki he can barely be seen. Due to this, back in theRommel Kingdom, everyone believed it was the wind that was slashing people. As such, the phenomenon became known as the “Kamaitachi of Rommel“. An even greater example of Hakuba’s speed is that he instantly defeated Dellinger, an executive of the Donquixote Pirates, without even being seen, who himself is renowned for defeating opponents with his speed. As a...
Garp’s Dream
Garp’s Dream In the anime, a young Luffy blurted out that the trio shared a promise over a shared drink. Garp overheard them boasting of their dreams to become pirates, leaving him infuriated. Garp then chases them out into the night, breaking down trees and rocks and beating them all to a pulp. Sabo exclaimed he was a monster. Afterwards, he casually leaves them, saying that he will not be so merciful next time. This was not shown in the manga. In the manga version, Garp was shown saying hello first before “training” them.

What happened between Akainu and Aokiji?
What happened between Akainu and Aokiji? Sakazuki was nominated for the position of fleet admiral after Sengoku had retired. Kuzan, however, was against the idea of having him become the new fleet admiral and the two admirals battled each other for the position on Punk Hazard. The battle lasted for ten days and their respective powers caused Punk Hazard to permanently be frozen on one half and burning on the other. In the end, Sakazuki ended up as the victor of that battle, although both men were seriously wounded. Sakazuki, however, decided to let Kuzan live because they were comrades. His new leadership has given the Marines a stronger sense of Absolute Justice. Haoshoku Haki and its Users
Haoshoku Haki and its Users Haoshoku Haki is a rare form of Haki that cannot be attained through training. Only one in several million people have this ability. This type of Haki allows the user to exert their willpower over others. It is said that whoever possesses this type of Haki has the qualities of a king. This type of Haki grants the user the ability to dominate the wills of others. The most common usage of it shown in the series so far is using it exert the user’s willpower onto those with weak wills and rendering them unconscious. Whilst inexperienced users are restricted to merely overpowering the will of one individual or blindly knocking out weak-willed people around them, those with more expertise can pick out...
The price list of the Human Auctioning House
The price list of the Human Auctioning House The Human Auctioning House is a center of slave trade and a bidding house for selling living beings as slaves. It is located on Sabaody Archipelago’s Grove 1. It was owned by Donquixote Doflamingo and like most of things affiliated with Doflamingo, it bears the Donquixote Pirates Jolly Roger — a smiley-face with the cancel symbol over it. After the timeskip, the Human Auctioning House has fallen into disrepair and its owner, Disco, is now a vagrant.Although as easily surmised and then directly cited by Caribou the slave trade lives on, insinuating that this is not the only auction house. According to the price list of the Human Auctioning House, the average starting prices for each races...
What is the deal with the Gorosei?
What is the deal with the Gorosei? The Gorosei (literally meaning “Five Elder Stars”) are the heads of the World Government, and as such, they essentially rule the entire world. They are the five men who rule above the Marines, Cipher Pol, and the ones who made a pact with the Shichibukai. So far, none of their names have been revealed. The tall thin one with the mustache (second from right) spoke with Professor Clover and ordered Spandine to kill him before the archaeologist could speak the Great Kingdom’s name. They have shown to have at least a basic knowledge of the occurrences of the Void Century, according to their shocked reactions to Professor Clover’s statements. They have shown a paranoid fear of someone reviving the...
Lucci was one of the best opponents!
Lucci was one of the best opponents! Lucci vs Luffy was one of the most epic fights in One Piece. There was a lot of emotion behind this fight in regards to Robin and her rescue. There was also the fact that Lucci had already been shown as completely and utterly dominant. But it was also the first in-depth look into Gear Second and the introduction to Gear Third which are awesome techniques. The venue of the fight changed places, as well did the actual form of Lucci. It felt like there were separate fights all rolled into one. Usopp screaming at Luffy was powerful and the final move where Luffy staggers and finally unleashes Jet Gatling is just breath taking. Really just an amazing fight!

How does Benn fight? One Piece
How does Benn fight? According to Oda, Beckman has the highest IQ of all the characters introduced in the East Blue saga. Since he is a first mate to a Yonko, he presumably possesses a great deal of strength. During the Battle of Marineford, Admiral Kizaru chose not to fight him, even though he had just fought the First Commander of Whitebeard’s crew and Whitebeard himself. It should be noted that Kizaru did, however, continue his attack on Luffy when Beckman came down to join the rest of the crew. Beckman also single-handedly defeated Higuma’s crew of mountain bandits, afterwards telling Higuma to bring a warship as backup if he wanted to fight them. Beckman carries a flintlock ***** with him, but he has yet to fire it, instead...
13 Things You Should Know About Trafalgar Law
13 Things You Should Know About Trafalgar Law “Law” is derived from real life pìrâ†é Edward Low. Law’s apparently infamous cruelty echoes Edward Low’s own reputation for violently torturing victims before killing them. Trafalgar is the name of a cape in the south-west of Spain. Its name is Arabic in origin, meaning “Western Cape”. It was the site of a famous naval battle between the British and the French/Spanish fleet during the Napoleonic Wars, dubbed the Battle of Trafalgar. London’s landmark Trafalgar Square is named for the battle, as is a class of submarines in the British Royal Navy. “Water Law”, as well his fight with Wellington, may be a reference to Waterloo, the place in where, on 18 June 1815, was fought the final battle...
Jewelry Bonney and Big Mom
Jewelry Bonney and Big Mom Many people think that Bonney may be Big Mom’s daughter and I agree. Like Lola and Purin, being named similarly to sweet foods: Lolly and Pudding, Bonney is also named similarly to a sweet food. Jewelry Bonney’s name can actually be phonetically pronounced by Japanese people as: ‘Jujubes Bonney’. Jujubes are French Candy/Sweets , fitting the French theme of the Big Mom Pirates. Also, another French sweet food, Bonbon – is similar to her name. Her name clearly fits. Bonney has bright red lips similar to Lola and Big Mom, whom are likely her relatives. They all have pink hair and all of them can eat excessive amounts of food as well as ALL THREE of them having the same heart shaped lips! She has also been shown...
7 Things You Should Know About Caesar Clown
7 Things You Should Know About Caesar Clown Caesar seems to have the double theme of clown and king, as: Caesar was the title for the Roman emperors, derived from the cognomen of Julius Caesar. Clown can be romanized both as Clown and Crown. He is the self-proclaimed King of Shinokuni (Land of Death). In his Shinokuni form, he obtains a crown. Like Magellan, Caesar’s sinister face, wild hair and horns make him resemble a stereotypical image of a demon; particularly Baphomet, a pagan deity-turned-devil most commonly depicted as a humanoid goat. In his first appearances his coat did not show “GAS” written twice on the front as it does from Chapter 666 on. He is, so far, the only Devil Fruit user who seems to keep his Logia Devil...
The Wano Country
The Wano Country The Wano Country is a nation in the New World. It is a country not affiliated with the World Government. Wano Country has its own warriors, the samurai, who are swordsmen so strong that not even theMarines go near them. It was first mentioned by Hogback, as Ryuma was from there. In the Wano Country, women are expected to be modest and speak gracefully and quietly. In addition, the chonmage is a common hairstyle. Aside from Ryuma, the only other known residents areKin’emon, his son Momonosuke, Kanjuro, and a ninja named Raizo. The name is a pun, as “Wa no Kuni literally meaning “Country of Harmony”)” is used as a name for Japan. The fact that the swordsmen in this country are called “samurai” and its closed-door...
8 Things You Should Know About Sir Crocodile
8 Things You Should Know About Sir Crocodile First of all Croocodile is the first Logia-user that Luffy defeated. Miss Goldenweek’s Rainbow Color Trap reveals that his dream was to become the pìrâ†é King. The soundtrack playing during Crocodile’s defeat is Dvorak’s New World Symphony, specifically the 4th movement, “Allegro con fuoco”. It was the third time in the anime when a piece of classical music was played in the anime (The first being Buggy and Gaimon’s farewell, during which Chopin’s Etude in E Major played, the second beingDr. Hiluluk’s last speech, during which Ave Maria was played and the fourth being when the zombies claimed Absalom as their leader, with Ludwig van Beethoven’s rendition of Ode to Joy). It was noted...
8 Things You Should Know About Monkey D. Garp
8 Things You Should Know About Monkey D. Garp In the anime, Garp said he has eaten 842 donuts without sleeping or taking a break because he was trying to beat a world record. Aside from Luffy himself, Garp is the only Romance Dawn V.2 character to actually appear in the storyline. Garp’s laughter style is that he adds either “Bwa” or “Wa” before the haha part. This is somewhat unique as most characters only stick with one laughter style (the other being Dracule Mihawk). Garp appears to have a dog animal-theme, as shown by his mask and his ship. In an SBS question on Volume 59, a fan pointed out the fact that despite Garp’s few appearances, his trademark scar has disappeared 25 times if counted up to Volume 58. In response to the...
New details about Vinsmoke Family and more
New details about Vinsmoke Family and more Mind-blowing chapter! 1- Vinsmoke hype! Sanji’s dad as the head of “a mythical evil army“. This family’s got some sinister and powerful history (probably a long-standing partnership with the WG). Can’t wait to know what they want to gain from the political marriage and why. 2- Big Mom herself. Some tend to disregard or rank her as the weakest of the Yonkous, but she is slowly proving it wrong. Connections that go as far as the East Blue from the New World (and that fast)? That’s freakin crazy. I also love Pekoms speech on power. Very impactful. 3- This changes everything. It’s BM cleaning her hands off the Strawhats, implying she’s no longer a threat as urgent as Kaido. She’s not gonna...
12 Things You Should Know About Gol D. Roger
12 Things You Should Know About Gol D. Roger Roger is the first character to be shown with the D in his name; however, he is the second to be named. Dr. Kureha revealed that his true name was Gol D. Roger well after his initial introduction. This is also the first indication that there is an underlying mystery and something special in those who carry the initial D, and Roger himself admits to Whitebeard that the D has a greater meaning than a simple initial. During Shanks’s flashback back to Roger’s death and the day he last saw Buggy, rain can be seen falling down on the town at that moment. This is echoed by Monkey D. Luffy’s departure from Loguetown, as it also rained during his escape. It was stated that Ace’s mother held him...
Sabo trained under Monkey D. Dragon!
Sabo trained under Monkey D. Dragon! Sabo was 10 years old when Dragon took him under his wing. When he joined the Revolutionary Army, he had already accepted their ideals. So häçk, who was the training instructor for orphans, decided to teach Sabo as well. But unfortunately Sabo was already so strong, that there wasn’t anything häçk could teach him.. Finally, Sabo ended up taking the training from Dragon himself, and kept on becoming stronger and stronger along the years. When Sabo was 13 years old, Koala (age 14) joined the Revolutionary Army. häçk and Koala took good care of Sabo and they often undertook missions as a team. Source: SBS Volume 80
What is the Calm Belt? One Piece
What is the Calm Belt? The Calm Belts are two areas that are just north and south of the Grand Line. These areas almost never have ocean currents or winds blowing, and are also nesting grounds for Sea Kings. They are very effective barriers for those trying to enter the Grand Line. The Straw Hat Pirates encountered the Sea Kings and were caught on top of one of their heads after the crew inadvertently entered one of the Calm Belts. The crew and their ship were sneezed away by a larger Sea King, which implies that the Sea Kings do not stay in the Calm Belts consistently. It was revealed that the Marines cross the Calm Belts by using Seastone lining at the bottom of their ships so Sea Kings will not notice a ship above them. The...
Marco’s Devil Fruit, One Piece
Marco’s Devil Fruit Marco ate a Devil Fruit referred to as a Mythical Zoan type; an immensely powerful type of Zoan Devil Fruit, said to be the rarest type, even rarer than Logia fruits. His Devil Fruit enables him to transform into a phoenix. It is because of this ability that he is identified as “Marco the Phoenix”. While this fruit’s power is classified as a Zoan, due to the uniqueness of the phoenix, the additional powers it grants may be considered similar to those of Paramecia (the somewhat “superhuman” power that affects the user’s body: regeneration) and Logia (the generation of blue phoenix flames). This Devil Fruit gives Marco increased physical attributes (as is with all Zoan types) and the rare ability of flight, as well...
Another foreshadowing of Oda?
Another foreshadowing of Oda? Chapter 124 Page 1. Sanji carrying a suitcase having the words “The Secret” and number 1830 while pointing to a sign board with the name Tsuru, who could be Vice Admiral Tsuru who was stationed at North Blue 13 years ago, where Sanji is born. Could this mean Tsuru know about Sanji’s past and Vinsmoke family? Oh, and the chapter name “This Tea is Really Delicious”
Is Luffy only attracted to Nami? Oda gave us the answer!
Is Luffy only attracted to Nami? Oda gave us the answer! 2 Different Reactions, 1 Answer! As stated by Eiichiro Oda Luffy reacted to Nami’s ***** body (in volumes 18 and 23, and both times it happened, Usopp was with him) because when he’s with Usopp, who’s the same age, it’s like a kid on a school trip: his bad side comes out!! In other words, when Luffy is alone, his reaction with Nami is what it was with Hancock. He’s interested, but he’s not entranced by them.
