WADA statement on Reuters story exposing USADA scheme in contravention of World Anti-Doping Code
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) just issued a statement: "The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has allowed doping athletes to compete for years, and in at least one case the anti-doping rule violations were never announced or sanctioned, in direct violation of the World Anti-Doping Code and USADA agency's own rules." In addition to the publicized cases, WADA is now aware of at least three cases in which athletes who committed serious anti-doping rule violations were allowed to continue competing over the years while being used as informants by USADA. In a decision promulgated on Wednesday, San Fernando, Pampanga Municipal Trial Court (MTC) Branch 9 Acting Presiding Judge Jason Alquiroz sentenced Jonathan Morales to four months imprisonment.
