Three Large Sunspot
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Thursday shared photos of three large sunspot groups taken earlier this morning. Sunspots are areas on the Sun’s surface that are relatively cooler and appear dark than their surroundings. “These patches are roughly the size of Earth, or about 20-40 times larger than a typical spot,” “The Sun is entering the Solar Maximum phase of its current solar cycle, where there will be an expected increase in solar activity (e.g., frequent solar flares, increased number of sunspots, and the like),” it added. Pagasa advised the public to not look at the Sun directly without a special filter to protect their eyes. Inquirer.Net

Fujiwhara effect
The "Fujiwhara effect" is a reason why TS Agaton has remained stationary in the Leyte Gulf area for some 24 hours now,as to what Prof. Rolando Borrinaga stated. The Fujiwhara effect, sometimes referred to as the Fujiwara effect, Fujiw(h)ara interaction or binary interaction, is a phenomenon that occurs when two nearby cyclonic vortices move around each other and close the distance between the circulations of their corresponding low-pressure areas. The effect is named after Sakuhei Fujiwhara, the Japanese meteorologist who initially described the effect. Binary interaction of smaller circulations can cause the development of a larger cyclone, or cause two cyclones to merge into one. Extratropical cyclones typically engage in binary...

Technically Competent President
Pumunta ako sa forum na to upang maglabas ng aking saloobin sa recent na paratang ng ating pangulo na si BBM ay drug user at weak na leader. I sympathize for those who just had their heart and minds broken of these recent blows from the man himself. Napagtanto ko, oh shit, wasak na wasak na yata politics natin ngayon. It is really shocking, depressing... yung implications nito kay inday sara, her supporters, I sure would have hoped Tatay Digs presented these at a better time and place. But heck is there even such? When I woke up and was discussing these thoughts with my wife, she too doesn't have the slightest idea how come things turned out this way. Eventually I presented to her my argument for each presidentiables... Namely...

Use of Expiring COVID-19 vax doses in house-to-house drive Duterte
MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 vaccine doses that are nearing expiry can be used in a house-to-house drive, President Rodrigo Duterte suggested on Tuesday in his weekly taped “Talk to the People” briefing, The doses in question are not excess orders, he pointed out. They are ready to be used, except that many Filipinos refuse to be vaccinated. “If there are many Filipinos who refuse to be vaccinated, it’s not the government’s fault for buying [vaccines] commensurate to the number of Filipinos we hoped to be vaccinated,” Duterte said, speaking in a mix of English and Filipino. “The vaccines are here and ready to be utilized just in case a good number of the Filipinos remaining and refusing to be vaccinated would want them...
BIR officials: Marcos' heirs can't be compelled to pay P203B tax deficiency - Manila Bulletin
The heirs and administrators of the late President Marcos’ estate cannot be compelled or sued in court for tax evasion even if they refused to pay the more than P203 billion deficiency inheritance tax assessment on the latter’s assets. This was the consensus among regional directors and district officers of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) nationwide. BIR’s field officials, who requested anonymity, explained that the estate tax is levied on real and personal properties of a dead person and not on the assets owned by his relatives. “I can’t recall of any individual being sent to jail for non-payment of the said tax,” one of the regional directors said. He said the proper thing to do under the Tax Code and revenue regulations is...

MMDA: Don't Leave Âlcohol in Cars to Avoid Fire
The MMDA on Sunday advised car owners against leaving bottles of disinfectant älcohol inside their vehicles to avoid fire during the summer months. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it a necessity for many people to bring disinfectant älcohol whenever they are going outside, with some car owners leaving one inside their vehicles to sanitize their hands with before holding any car part. Âlcohol, however, can catch flame inside the car when exposed to high temperatures, especially when the vehicle is parked in an open space for a long period of time. "Iwasan natin na mag-iwan ng bote ng älcohol sa loob ng ating sasakyan upang disgrasya ay maiwasan," the MMDA said. "Ang älcohol ay flammable kaya mainam na ilagay ito sa mga lugar na ang...
