4. a.) 10 ml vial has 100 units per ml
As in 1 ml there is 100 units
So, in 10 ml vial there will be 1000 units
Dose to be given to patient daily= 20 units
Number of days the vial will last= Total dose in vial/ daily dosage
= 1000/20 = 50 days
Hence, the Vial will last for 50 days
b.) If the patient retured after 7 weeks i.e 49 days so, Yes the Patient is compliant with the Medication for Insulin as the patient previous dose will be finished in 50 days so, the patient Came 1 day before his dose to be ended.
5. q.d. (or qd) means one a day (from the Latin quaque die).
b.i.d. (bid or BID) is twice a day; b.i.d.. stands for "bis in die" (which means, in Latin, twice a day).
t.i.d. (or tid or TID) is three times a day ; t.i.d. stands for "ter in die" (in Latin, 3 times a day).
q.i.d. (or qid or QID) is four times a day; q.i.d. stands for "quater in die" (in Latin, 4 times a day).
So,Tablets to be taken on Day 1 = 4 tablets
Tablets for Second day = 3 tablets
Tablet from 3rd to 7th Day = 2 tablets X 5 Days = 10 tablets
Thereafter from 8th to 30th day = 1 tablet X 23 days = 23 tablets
So, Total Number of Tablets to be dispatched = 4+ 3 + 10 + 23 = 40 tablets
Hence the Pharmacist should dispense 40 tablets to the patient equivalent for 30 days supply.
