🔒 Closed My take on Telco expropriation by Duterte

Sa ngayon hirap si Dennis Uy sa pagpatayo ng infrastructure ng DITO ngayon. Delayed sila dahil 300 out of 1300 cell sites lang ang naggawa nila. Dapat July 8 this year na technical launch nila.
May mga unverified na balita about sa pricing ng DITO na mas cheap sila compared sa smart at globe.


Ano mangyayari if expropriated na talaga sila by december?
- If expropriated yung mga mga assets ni globe at smart, makukuha ni DITO ang mga cell sites nila.
edit: di pala mabibigay kay DITO yung assets ni globe at smart, pwede lang ilagay si DITO sa mga cell sites nila. Credits to Berto Pogi.
Which means Dito would have the same quality of service sa internet ni globe at smart.
That would be the same bad service ngayon. Possibly the same price and quality. (cell sites ang batayan ng quality ng internet nila.)

• DITO monopoly(depende sa range ng expropriation, oh wala nang competition congrats)

• China Telco would have access to our internet infrastructure(possible censorship at compromised na privacy natin, no choice tayo sila na lng ISP natin)
• Government controlled yung internet natin.(kung idol niyo si duterte ngayon ok kayo, pero ano na mangyayari pag bumaba na siya? magugustuhan niyo kaya yung bagong presidente at ang kontrol nito?)

ano yung dapat na action natin?

• tell the president to extend the date of his expropriation threat by next year, ideally some time pagkatapos ng march 2021(bagong date yan sa pag launch ni DITO), para ma judge natin yung quality ni DITO.
• kung mababa rin yung quality of service ni DITO, it would stop the president from expropriating the two telcos. It would prove na mahirap maging ISP dito sa Pilipinas or not.

Tan*a naman, isang example kung gaano siya katan*a ay ito, 2019 pa (or even maybe older) naghihingi si globibo ng permission mag patayo ng cell site. Ngayon lang na approve, ng nag warning siya sa telcos. Edi anong kabo*ohan yan.

you know how our government works right? corruption is rampant sa mga ahensya nang gobierno, its kinda dumb to always blame only the president. Kunti lang mga government employee/ servant nag service karamihan kupitan to the max.

hidi naman sila kay pangulong Duterte hihingi ng permit para makapagtayo sila ng cell site kundi don sa lugar kng saan sila magtatayo. Kaya nga isa yan sa mga reklamo ng globe dahil ang tagal nilang bigyan ng permit ng LGU or minicipalidad at isa pa daming din ng requirements.

Ideally sana magcombine nalang lahat ng telco natin, monopoly siya oo, pero maging mas ma improve yung infrastructure if combined sila. Ideally lang pero hanggang mamatay tayo di yan ata nila gagawin.

Mobile infrastructure yung build nila first since easy lang yan compared sa paglay-out ng fiber, unlike smart which doesn't need to build fiber services since partner sila ni pldt. Mahihirapan yan sila mag maintain ng both mobile and home fiber services, just look at globe.
