Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has a lot in store this 2020, despite the challenges of the pandemic.

Log in or register now., the manufacturer is now preparing to launch another model this July – the 2021 (or late 2020) Vios. Excited? We are too. Fortunately, we won't have to wait long now to see the updated model as the digital launch is scheduled to be held this Saturday, July 25.

For those wondering, this won't be an all-new model. Instead, it will be a facelift of the current-generation model. Based on the teaser released by TMP, the 2021 Vios will get a reshaped front fascia. Specifically, it appears that the “smiling” look of the current model will be replaced with a more sporty design. It also receives a new vertical fog light housings similar to the current Corolla Altis.


Apart from the new front end, there's not much known about the rest of the upcoming Vios. However, expect most of the current design cues to be carried over considering it is merely a facelift. A new rear bumper and possibly new wheel options could be the other changes made to the 2021 model.

Under the hood, the Vios will have the same the 1.3-liter and 1.5-liter engines, along with either a 5-speed manual or CVT. The mechanical bits have been carried over from the pre-facelift model. Inside, there might be changes to the fabric design, but it will more or less be the same as well. A probable upgrade would be the infotainment system. Considering that the Wigo already has a headunit with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, expect the Vios to get the same or even better.
