Octopuses have 3 hearts, 9 brains, and blue blood.

- 3 Hearts: Two pump blood to the gills, while the third circulates blood to the rest of the body. (Fun fact: the main heart actually stops beating when the octopus swims, which is why they prefer crawling!)
- 9 Brains: One central brain controls overall behavior, while each of their 8 arms has its own mini-brain, allowing each limb to taste, feel, and make decisions independently.
- Blue Blood: Instead of iron-based hemoglobin (which turns human blood red), octopuses use copper-based hemocyanin, which is far more efficient at carrying oxygen in cold, low-oxygen ocean depths—giving their blood a distinct blue color.
