Pwede. Kailangan mo lang ng Server na maghohost ng DB mo.

Gusto ko lang idagdag. Direct DB connection is not secured. So kung meron kang webhosting. I would suggest mag-implement ka ng web service. Then kung talagang gusto mong Desktop application. Pwede mong tawagin ang webservice using either JSON or XML. Medyo matrabaho pero ang kangandahan non kung maisipan mong gawing web application same web service lang ang gagamitin mo.
