The Vietnam Cyber threat
New York -- Security companies have warned on the growing cyber offensive capability of Vietnam.
This started in 2017 when a top Vietnamese general said that a 10,000-strong special group dubbed "Force 47" has been tasked with fighting "wrongful views" spreading on the internet. The group's task is to monitor and counter online dissent but Human Rights groups have anticipated that these cyber soldiers will not only help secure the Vietnamese cyber space but will also escalate smear campaigns against activists online.
Vietnamese groups Ocean Lotus and Poison Ivy who are believed to be state-backed häçkers have increased their activities significantly as monitored by CyberSecurity companies. A Pinoy häçker informed me early this year that members of the said groups were traced to have arrived in the country.

The on-going cyber wars happening on FB between Pinoy and Vietnamese häçkers is escalating. But a Pinoy häçker who is active in recovering compromised accounts said, "not only häçkers from Vietnam are targeting Pinoy FB users but also others häçkers because there is a market for Pinoy FB accounts." This could possibly mean that someone is actively collecting these accounts for future use." As of this writing, thousands of Pinoy FB accounts are affected. Secure your FB accounts now!

PH-Vietnam white hat cooperation
A group of Pinoy häçkers lead by someone named Le Angel have contacted their Vietnamese counterpart to call for truce and to stop the undeclared cyber wars between the two countries and so far the results are good.
Le Angel warned Pinoy FB users to secure their social media accounts. "Secure accounts. Check if email is updated. Enable 2FA and change into strong passwords" she said.
Is the Philippines ready for this?
