Ok, let me share a bit of my story, it could help.
Lumaki ako sa isang barangay na mostly farmers. My father is a jeepney driver and my mother is a retailer of NFA, so medyo may kaya kami compared to the rest of the community. Our neighbors are at least 100m away and may bundok in between kaya isolated ang bahay namin.
I was bullied as a kid because I'm a bit different from the rest. I was always made fun of, called names, pushed down the river, and challenged to fights. I'm the top of the class academically but was also bullied because of that. From then, I had fear of crowded places. I always worry about what people think of me. I can't stop thinking about other's opinions to the point of asking them if they heard anyone saying anything about me. That's how grave it was and I fell deep into depression. Imagine being in that state with no one to hear you out, your parents are busy working and your siblings are living in the city.
Last year lang na macoconsider kong naovercome ko ang social anxiety ko. Of course meron parin from time to time, I dislike crowded places but no longer fear it. I have no problems speaking in public if needed but I still prefer not to, I'm an introvert after all.
I have a small circle of friends since college. IT din ako, currently working as computer programmer pero pwede rin akong technician. My PC is my best friend. Kung gusto mong mag-IT, go for it. Being alone is not all that bad as long as you don't feel lonely. Also, treasure your relationship with other people even if it's just one person or two, it will greatly help you improve. Keep your mind busy and keep your heart beating, LABAN LANG!
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm 25 now.
