🔒 Closed 105 days ρáíd maternity leave

Woke up to the news this morning that senators and congressmen comprising Congress’ bicameral conference committee has just approved the "Expanded Maternity Leave" bill by adding five more days to the proposed 100-day leave.

Good news dapat itong 105-day maternity leave, right? Especially for women currently in the workforce. But why do I feel like naaprubahan lang ito dahil sa nalalapit na eleksiyon? In addition, good luck din to all women na nagbabalak pa lang maging parte ng labor force.

Your thoughts on this?

We should just disregard the politics here after all the needs of the many outweigh the need of the few. You are correct that such bill when turned into shall benefit all women concerned in both the public and private sector.

What matters is that we exercise the right of suffrage. We vote who we think is suited for the job, though IMO, most of them do not even know those who authored the said bill. After all it will be more credited to the President for signing it into law. My thoughts ah.
