What is Himalayan Salt Lamp?

Salt lamps or HPS (Himalayan Pink Salt) lamps are essentially large pieces of pure Himalayan Salt with a small bulb inside. They can be solid pieces of salt or decorative baskets filled with large crystals of salt . They offer a nice warm glow when lit and may be beneficial for indoor air quality.

Himalayan salt lamps are made from pure, food grade, Himalayan salt crystals and can even be powdered to use as salt in recipes if needed. These beautiful lamps have gained massive popularity recently and there are many benefits attributed to them.

But are these benefits actually backed by science?

Here is how they work...

The light bulb heats the salt which gently breaks off and disperses into the air, which is why they must be turned on almost always. The salt particles attract to the moisture’s in the air. The moisture droplets in the air contain the dust, bacteria, mould and viruses. When the salt and water meet, the salt absorbs the water and as the salt is anti-microbial, anti-bacterial,anti- fungal and anti- inflammatory it kills unwanted particles that can be breathed in to us and land on surfaces and breed, and cleans the air. We then breath in the salt particles in the air and these anti- inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti- fungal properties get into the spores in our lungs and shrink, dislodge and evaporate mucus. The salt is then seen as a poison to be removed and helps draw it out of the body through coughing or sneezing ect. As I explained the salt kills the viruses and bacteria thus helping your body rid from any imbalance.

Also salt is a earth mineral which makes it a negatively ionic charged particle...that means as “we” as humans are neutrally charged when we live a natural lifestyle, but now we often live in a positively charged world of TV, radiation and WIFI and acid foods ect....so it counteracts this on a small level helping to ground us and calm our nervous system back down if we have enough of them around.

There has been studies done showing the reduction of EMF readings and a reduction of stress of people when used in offices.

I hope that helps you understand the importance of a random piece of salt rock by your bed and how it can help improve your health.

Of course it will not counteract a poor diet, negative thoughts and energy and a damaging lifestyle or relationship, but can be used to assist in a healthy lifestyle...and they must be in each room and turned on.

di ba pwede ang native salt natin? hehe
In terms of nutritional content, Celtic sea salt has less sodium than Maldon and Himalayan sea salt. It's also shown to be slightly higher in calcium, magnesium and iron. However,Himalayan rock salt contains nearly double the amount of potassium than Celtic sea salt ..kaya medyu iba sya compared to normal salt...

In addition to that

It is mined from the Khewra Salt Mine, the second largest salt mine in the world. Himalayan salt often contains trace amounts of iron oxide (rust), which gives it a pink color. It does contain small amounts of calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium. It also contains slightly lower amounts of sodium than regular salt.(Jun 4, 2017)
