Instead of asking where it came from why not just asked why is there monotheism. I mean, if you were asking where the idea of having one god originated from, I personally think there is no specific place for that. People from different parts of the earth can simultaneously have that idea without being influence by each other. The real question is why they think there's only one god or to begin with, why they think god exist.
