Persona 3 Reloaded is the acclaimed remake of the legendary 2006 RPG developed by Atlus and published by SEGA. Originally released on February 2, 2024, the game rebuilds the PlayStation 2 classic experience from the ground up, adapting the gameplay and visuals to the modern standards set by Persona 5 Royal. The game is available for PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S (included in the Xbox Game Pass catalog), and also for the Nintendo Switch 2. Furthermore, it features official support for Brazilian Portuguese subtitles, a highly anticipated debut for the franchise.
History and Setting
You take on the role of a transfer student who returns to his hometown a decade after the tragic death of his parents. Upon arriving, he discovers the existence of the Dark Hour—a hidden period between one day and the next in which most people transform into coffins and dangerous creatures called Shadows attack. After awakening the power to summon a Persona (the physical manifestation of his spiritual force), the protagonist is recruited by SEES (Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad). From then on, his routine is divided into two central dynamics:
• School and Social Life (Daytime): Attend classes at Gekkoukan High School, explore Port Island, and build Social Links with friends and allies to strengthen your Persona fusions.
• Tartarus Exploration (Night): Invade the immense mutant tower that emerges during the Dark Hour, battling against the shadows in a highly strategic turn-based combat system.
What changed in the remake?
• Graphics and Interface: Completely redesigned visuals in Unreal Engine with up to 4K resolution and 60 FPS, plus dynamic and highly stylized menus.
• Modernized Combat: A more fluid turn-based system that allows direct control of all party members (something that wasn't possible on the original PS2) and controls inherited from Persona 5.
• Expanded Story: Includes new story scenes, side events with the male members of the group, and fully redubbed dialogue.
• Expansions and DLCs: The base game focuses purely on the original campaign of the male protagonist. The iconic epilogue campaign, The Answer, was later released through the Expansion Pass under the title Episode Aigis: The Answer.
