Pets are becoming a significant part of household spending in the Philippines. A 2026 consumer study cited by the Philippine News Agency estimated that about 67% of Filipino homes have at least one pet.
The spending goes beyond pet food: demand is also appearing for grooming, wellness products, and even household products designed to be safer around animals.
This means pets are increasingly being treated as part of the household lifestyle rather than simply as animals kept outdoors.
The trend is also influencing businesses that do not directly sell pet products. Pet ownership is becoming an important factor in how Filipino households choose everyday products.
