Forgot Your Android Password? Here’s What Actually Works (2026 Guide)

Don’t fall for fake “emergency dial code” tricks — they don’t unlock your phone.
Use these legit & safe methods instead

1. Google “Find My Device” (Best Method)

Go to: You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now.
Login with your Google account
Select your device → Click Erase Device

This removes the lock (but deletes data)

2. Samsung Users (Find My Mobile)

Login → Select device → Click Unlock

Works only if Samsung account was already logged in

3. Forgot Pattern (Older Android)

After multiple wrong attempts → Tap “Forgot Pattern”
Login with Google → Reset lock

4. Factory Reset (Recovery Mode)

Turn OFF phone
Press Power + Volume Up/Down (varies by device)
Select Wipe Data / Factory Reset

This erases everything

What DOES NOT work:
