A weather-beaten VL10 freight locomotive becomes both your shelter and your responsibility across a harsh 220-kilometre stretch of Siberian rail. Trans-Siberian Railway Simulator combines train operation with survival mechanics, sending you through forests, freezing nights, isolated stations, and routes where a missed signal can turn a routine delivery into a costly disaster. Its tone is deliberately rugged rather than relaxing: the wilderness is beautiful, but hunger, mechanical failures, hostile people, and the cold continually demand attention. The result is an unusual railway sim that treats every journey as a small expedition.

Driving centres on managing a simplified but detailed locomotive cab, watching track signals, controlling speed, and hauling cargo safely between jobs. Money earned from transport work pays for food, tools, spare parts, weapons, and ammunition, while locomotive inspections reveal components that need replacing before they fail on the line. Outside the cab, you monitor hunger, thirst, body temperature, illness, ******* effects, and fatigue-related problems, then hunt animals or trade meat, trophies, scrap, and supplies when resources run low. Story Mode adds dangerous side work for the mafia and pressure from corrupt police, while Survival focuses on enduring the route and Simulator mode removes the personal survival demands for players who mainly want to drive.

What separates it from conventional rail simulations is how often the train itself becomes only one part of the problem. Dynamic weather, a day-and-night cycle, shooting for hunting and self-defence, and the constant need to maintain both man and machine give its journeys the scrappy tension of a survival sandbox.
