Researchers asked hundreds of people what their romantic partners do that actually makes them feel loved.

Three major themes emerged: positive responsiveness to their needs, authentic connection, and a sense of stability.

Positive responsiveness was the most commonly identified component across demographic groups in the study.

That means feeling loved wasn't limited to flowers, dates, gifts, or romantic words.

Feeling that someone responds to your needs and provides a secure relationship can itself be experienced as love.

Sometimes the least dramatic relationship behaviors communicate the most.
