Plants positioned beside a window often grow toward their strongest source of light, a response called phototropism.
For suitable houseplants, periodically rotating the pot can encourage more balanced growth rather than allowing one side to remain permanently oriented toward the window.
Avoid suddenly changing the plant's overall light conditions, particularly with species sensitive to environmental changes.
A small rotation can change which side receives the strongest light without relocating the entire plant.
