A houseplant lives indoors, but it isn't completely isolated from the seasons.
Changes in daylight duration and intensity can affect growth, while indoor temperature and humidity may also change throughout the year. Some plants consequently grow more slowly during particular seasons and use water at different rates.
A watering routine that worked during a bright growing period may therefore not be appropriate all year.
Indoor gardening still follows environmental changes happening outside the window.
