💡 Trivia Giant Squid Were Filmed Alive Only Recently

Although giant squid have been part of legends for centuries, scientists didn't capture clear footage of one alive in its natural deep-sea habitat until the 21st century.

The extreme depth and darkness of the ocean made observing these animals incredibly difficult. New underwater technology finally made it possible. Much of the deep ocean remains unexplored even today. Some legendary creatures turned out to be real after all.
