In several cities, crows have been observed dropping hard-shelled nuts onto roads just before traffic lights turn green. Cars crack the shells as they drive over them. The birds then wait until pedestrians have the right of way before safely collecting the food. Researchers believe they learn this behavior by watching traffic patterns over time. It's a remarkable example of animals adapting to city life.
