💡 Trivia Bible Contradiction: No one can see God (or can they?)

No one has ever seen God (1 John 4:12).

No man has seen or can see [God] (1 Timothy 6:16).

But Adam and Eve saw God. So did Abraham and Moses:

The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day (Genesis 18:1).

The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend (Exodus 33:11).

i'll give u a simple analogy.
if you stare directly at the sun in full brightness it'll hurt your eyes or wouldnt be stared at, but when using the reflection of water to observe the sun you could see it just fine
its the same as this. God revealed Himself in forms humans could endure, while His full divine essence remains beyond human sight. Those passages are just addressing different kinds of "seeing God" and they support that distinction rather than contradicting each other
