Several species of fish naturally change from male to female, or female to male, depending on environmental conditions or the needs of their group. This ability helps maintain successful reproduction when mates are limited.
Species such as clownfish and wrasses are well-known examples. Nature has evolved many different reproductive strategies. These adaptations improve the chances of survival for many species.
